Each year the Independence Business Alliance, a local organization dedicated to providing LGBT professionals and allies with resources and opportunities, hosts a Business Leaders Luncheon. The event, which will be held Monday, May 11, celebrates achievements in the LGBT community.

In addition to gathering business professionals, corporate allies and government representatives for a networking lunch, the IBA will give out the PNC Bank LGBT Business Award to a small business owner. Doubling this year from $5,000 to $10,000, the award supports the winner's plans for growth.

Justin Nelson, president and co-founder of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, will be this year's keynote speaker. NGLCC is a national nonprofit advocacy organization dedicated to expanding opportunities for LGBT business owners.

The luncheon is open to IBA members and non-members, but advanced registration is required.
