This year's event also marks the first since Amazon's acquisition of Whole Foods, which has already provided us some discounted prices at the grocery store and, more recently, deliverable groceries for no extra fee. This year's Prime Day will reflect the deal: Whole Foods will be offered for up to $20 off, and market analysts believe Prime Day overall will make real pressure for other food retailers.
This year's 36-hour Prime Day is also a six-hour bump up from last year's, and extending to more areas, including Australia, Singapore, Netherlands, and Luxembourg getting in on the action. Amazon said the day will include 1 million deals worldwide.
A handful of deals are already in full effect, including discounts on Amazon Echo, luggage, and furniture. This year the company also wants to give away a 2019 Lexus ES with Alexa and a sweet check for $50,000.
