Pope Francis’ visit to Philadelphia this weekend is expected to draw well over 1 million people.
Whether you're unable to make it to the Parkway for the Sunday papal Mass, or just want to avoid the crowds, there are several alternative places to tune in on the action.
In an effort to provide the community with an opportunity to witness the historic event, Holy Family University will be live streaming the papal Mass on campus. In partnership with Verizon Wireless, Holy Family is inviting community members to participate in an intimate Holy Family Mass beginning at 2:30 p.m., followed shortly by a reception with light food and drinks, before the streaming of Pope Francis’ Mass at 4 p.m.
St. Aloysius Parish is hosting a papal Mass viewing party at 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, and the party will feature a BBQ with fellow parishioners. All attendees are asked to bring an appetizer, salad or dessert.
The Diocese of Allentown, in partnership with ArtsQuest, will present a papal Mass viewing at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, Pa. The Mass will be shown on three outdoor screens at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks. The event will also include a live Mass at noon, a variety of food and family activities.
Sponsored by the Cape May Ministerium, the Cape May Convention Hall is hosting a live broadcast of the papal Mass for free on Sunday. Doors open at 3 p.m.
