Steve Martin is the special guest scheduled to appear at the Academy of Music’s 161st Anniversary Concert on Jan. 27.
Martin will join the concert with music director and conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin leading the Philadelphia Orchestra. Throughout the event, guests can expect to see Martin host and show off his comedic chops with a monologue.

He will also play both with the Philadelphia Orchestra and solo, so get ready to hear that banjo.
After the concert is the white-tie dinner and ball at the Hyatt at the Bellvue, featuring a guest list that surely will read like a who’s who of Philadelphia's elite.
Fingers crossed the event doesn’t meet the sad fate of the 159th Anniversary Concert in 2016, which was snowed out marking the first time the event had ever been canceled. The weather also postponed Martin Short's special guest appearance.
