The Historic Houses of Fairmount Park are some of the best-preserved examples of 18th and early 19th-century American architecture.
This December, tour five of the houses to see their holiday decorations and to learn interesting facts about their history. Visitors are invited inside Cedar Grove, Laurel Hill Mansion, Lemon Hill Mansion, Historic Strawberry Mansion and Woodford on select dates through Sunday, Dec. 31.
There will also be four special theme days.
•Saturday, Dec. 2 is "Sounds of the Season" – Opera Philadelphia, the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra, the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and the Performing Arts, PlayOnPhilly! and Choral Arts Philadelphia will perform.
•Sunday, Dec. 3 is "Family Day" – There will be entertainment and activities ideal for children age 12 and under, including a visit from Santa.
•Saturday, Dec. 9 is "Neighbor's Day" – Neighbors to the Historic Houses will show off their talents.
•Sunday, Dec. 10 is "Flavors of the Season" – Enjoy free samples from local spots like GARCES Restaurant, Shane Confectionery and Manatawny Still Works.
Admission is $8 per house. Children 12 and younger can attend for free.
There are also $35 discounted passes to see all five houses available for "Sounds of the Season," "Neighbor’s Day" and "Flavors of the Season."
$30 discounted passes to see all five houses are available for "Family Day" and any December "Drop In" day (16 dates throughout December).
