One of the great golden rules in life is to appreciate the wisdom of our elders, and who better to represent this proverb than Golden Girl Betty White, who celebrates her 94th birthday on Sunday?
The star actress appears as sharp as ever in a new NFL commercial released today, which most Philadelphia Eagles fans will find they can relate to pretty well, unfortunately.
White joins Rob Riggle and Joel McHale in an ad for "Bandwagon.net," a service specially designed for fans of NFL teams that are no longer in contention for the Super Bowl. Riggle touts the service as an instant fix for people who are stuck rooting for the likes of the Jags, who have been perennially awful, and the Vikings, who lost to the now-eliminated Seahawks in heartbreaking fashion on Wildcard Weekend.
The always saucy White plays a reassuring counselor for some of the NFL's more troubled figures, from Bengals coach Marvin Lewis to Dez Bryant, Roger Goodell, and Johnny Manziel.
Anyone feeling skeptical, McHale says, can obtain a pamphlet "on embracing delusion and living a lie."
Happy Birthday, Betty!
