The folks at Philly By Air are out with their latest project – and it's a 900-hole delight.
Over the course of two months, Matt Satell visited 50 of the area's most beautiful golf courses and flew his drone 300 feet above the fairways, greens and tees to capture them in all their aerial glory.
Satell started by making a list of more than 150 course and country clubs in the region, then put up the drone over 65 of them to capture aerial photos. Those were edited down to the top 50 courses, which include Radnor Valley Country Club, in Delaware County, Rancocas Valley Golf Club in Burlington County, the Union League Golf Course at Torresdale in Northeast Philadelphia and, of course, Merion Golf Club's East Course in Montgomery County.
They based their rankings on the criteria: aesthetics, design, and prestige.
For those of us who have knocked the ball around on some of these courses, it's nice to know that sky-high means more than that number on the scorecard.
