Four people were shot, and three of them died, in separate incidents overnight in Philadelphia, CBSPhilly reports.
Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night, police found a 34-year-old woman with a gunshot wound unconscious in the driver’s seat of a car on West Westmoreland Street in North Philadelphia. The car had come to a stop on the 200 block of W. Westmoreland St. after running into three other vehicles.
The woman was pronounced dead just after midnight at Temple Hospital.
Later, police responded to a shooting call around 2:15 a.m. on the 2700 block of Latona St. in King Village, near Grays Ferry. There, they discovered two 23-year-old men with gunshot wounds. One was shot in both thighs, and the other had gunshot wounds to the head, chest and arm.
Both were taken to Presbyterian Hospital. The man who was shot in the legs died just after 2:30 a.m. The second victim was pronounced dead around 4 a.m.
A man with a gunshot wound to the head drove himself to 12th District police headquarters just before 2 a.m. Police told CBSPhilly that he said he was approached at 67th Street and Guyer Avenue in Elmwood by two men who ordered him to give up his car.
The victim said when he tried to drive away, the suspects fired several shots, and one of the bullets grazed him in the left temple. He remains in stable condition at Presbyterian Hospital.
Philadelphia’s 2015 homicide total rose to 40 with the three overnight killings, CBSPhilly reports.
