Philadanco and Pennsylvania Ballet combine for "Together We Dance."
The pre-professional groups from Pennsylvania Ballet and Philadanco, named PB II and D2 respectively, are teaming up for a one-night-only performance. The up-and-coming dancers will perform works created by local choreographers at "Together We Dance" Wednesday, May 27.
WXPN DJ John Vettese will host a cocktail hour before the performance. Afterward the young dancers from PB II and D2 will chat with the audience in a special Q&A session. In anticipation of the event, Pennsylvania Ballet composed a video showing off the talents of each second company.
PB II is a trainee company for pre-professional dancers which gets daily instruction and practices with the main company for each of their big performances. Similarly, D2 is a selective apprentice company which is trained in professional level classes. These dancers are the future of Philadelphia's dance scene.
