The 2017 diet trend is for people who live for cheat day

Whole Foods Market predicts a more relaxed way of eating

2017 might be the year people relax a little – at least in terms of what they put on their plates.

According to Whole Foods Markets' annual food trend predictions, the lifestyle likely to become a buzzword in 2017 is the flexitarian diet, which is, as its name hints, a more flexible way of sticking to a specialty diet.

What this means is that the rules of a person's chosen diet will be a little more relaxed. So, for example, a person who is mostly a vegetarian will snack on steak sometimes, or a person who is mainly vegan might switch to an omnivore diet on the weekends.

So basically, it’s a cheat-day diet with blurred boundaries.
