Good things come in all shapes and sizes. In Philadelphia, that rings true as a baker's dozen of businesses were recognized on a list of the best food trucks in the nation.
That's right, 13 Philly spots secured a spot on The Daily Meal's recent ranking of the "101 Best Food Trucks in America 2017." Four even made the Top 10.
The national food website annually judges the nation's food trucks to steer readers toward the best eating experiences. This year's list, the outlet's sixth, clearly had an appetite only Philly could satisfy.
Sweet Box Cupcakes was the highest-ranked local food truck at No. 4. The truck's memorable hot pink design contains a kitchen, which "offers some of the most creatively flavored cupcakes in Philly," according to the website.
The other local trucks that made the Top 10 were The Creperie at Temple (No. 8), Cucina Zapata (No. 9) and Mama's Meatballs (No. 10).
Both The Creperie and Cucina Zapata were praised for their unique takes on crepes and Thai food, respectively. Mama's Meatballs' "most dedicated customers" earned accolades for their outspoken love for the eatery's take on Italian cuisine.
Here are the rest of the local trucks to earn a spot on the list:
• No. 15 Foolish Waffles
• No. 20 Sugar Philly Truck
• No. 26 Chewy's
• No. 38 Mac Mart Truck
• No. 42 The Cow and the Curd
• No. 83 Cupcake Carnivale
• No. 86 Surf and Turf Truck
• No. 98 Butter Truck
• No. 100 Seoulfull Philly
Also of note, Oink and Moo, a New Jersey-based food truck, was ranked No. 2 and recently added stops in Philly.
The list was compiled after examining customer reviews on food, ratings on service and social media followings.
