Uber and the Pennsylvania SPCA are teaming up for the fourth time on Wednesday, April 26, when Philadelphia professionals can relieve stress by requesting an Uber drop off adoptable puppies.
Since the event takes place the day before the NFL draft begins, the puppies will be dressed in football jerseys.
Beginning at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Uber users in Philadelphia (mainly Center City, Old City, the Navy Yard, University City and Northern Liberties) can open the Uber app, enter the promo code "PUPPYDRAFT" under the payment menu to unlock the "PUPPY DRAFT" option and request 15 minutes of playtime with two pups for $30.
Besides being an oh-so-cute way to spend 15 minutes, the promotion is for a good cause. Uber will be donating the proceeds to the Pennsylvania SPCA and hopefully finding puppies new homes.
“The PSPCA’s history in this city dates back 150 years, and we are still to this day working to protect animals and prevent cruelty here. We couldn’t think of a better, and more fun way, to spread the word about our mission with the nation’s sports fans watching,” Julie Klim, CEO of the Pennsylvania SPCA, stated.
Uber expects the Uber Puppies: Draft Edition to be in high demand and asks users to be patient when booking, since availability will be limited.
“We hope that by the end of the day, each of these adorable, adoptable puppies will be drafted into their Philly forever home," Brian Hughes, general manager for Uber Philadelphia, stated.
