The Eagles decided to liven up the weekend, (incredibly) trading Sam Bradford to the Minnesota Vikings for a first and fourth round pick. And no, it wasn't Adam Schefter who broke the news of the deal:
Wade Phillips tweeted (and deleted) this 30 minutes before the deal was made. đź‘€ https://t.co/b1zsdI3krl pic.twitter.com/wnITuJL3M0

But Schefter did eventually confirm Son of Bum's tweet:
Minnesota Vikings are trading for Eagles' QB Sam Bradford, league sources tell ESPN.

And then Twitter, both locally and nationally, went absolutely insane. Here is a sampling of immediate reactions to the Bradford trade:
?!?!?!?!?!?

So glad to never watch Sam Bradford again, so sad to watch 3 weeks of Chase Daniel.

And then.....
Source confirms: the #Vikings have traded for Sam Bradford. They gave up a 1st-round pick in 2017 and an additional pick in 2018.

Boom goes the dynamite.
So where’s everyone who said the Eagles were so dumb for investing a lot of resources into quarterbacks now?
— Brandon Lee Gowton (@BrandonGowton) September 3, 2016
There's a reason to go to the draft next year now!

If only i’d felt strongly enough to write this last night when the AFC guy told me it could happen...

Welcome to 99 everyone #Eagles

General rule: if a city is hosting a draft, it needs a first-round pick.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) September 3, 2016
Initial thoughts: 1. Eagles are punting the 2016 season 2. I'm totally OK with it. 3. Wentz starts after the bye. 4. https://t.co/gHKuZIRxsg
— Joe Giglio (@JoeGiglioSports) September 3, 2016
A 1st-rd pick for Bradford is a total score for Eagles. GM Roseman was adamant about keeping Bradford without heavy compensation. He got it.

Carson better be playing very soon because I can't handle Chase Daniel at QB https://t.co/6iymF6Kypf
— Reuben Frank (@RoobCSN) September 3, 2016
suddenly, resigning bradford looks like it was brilliant. and it's what the vikings had to do. https://t.co/KajN2MthK8

Screw the draftees, Howie Roseman's doing the first run up the Rocky steps.
— Noah Coslov (@NoahCoslov) September 3, 2016
I'm not at all convinced that Sam Bradford will be better in Minnesota this year than Shaun Hill would've been.

This shocker means a QB with 25 wins in 5 seasons has been acquired twice in the last 3 years for a 1st, 2nd and two 4th round picks.

Fun Fact:
— SportsPickle (@sportspickle) September 3, 2016
Shaun Hill career QB rating: 85.2
Sam Bradford career QB rating: 81.0
Does anyone want to read a 1,400-word story on Sam Bradford and how he's at an "all-time high" heading into #Eagles season? Didn't think so.

With the Bradford trade, the #Eagles free up $17M in cap space for next year

Sam Bradford is the Honus Wagner baseball card of QBs. He's apparently worth a lot every time he changes hands but I have no idea why.

The Big Short 2 will be all about Sam Bradford's NFL career
— Texas Challenge (@trillballins) September 3, 2016
Can look at it like ... Eagles gave up Nick Foles, a 2, and a 4. Eagles got a 1, a 4, a 5, and a year of Sam Bradford. (I think that's it.)
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) September 3, 2016
Sam Bradford just made $11M from Eagles for OTAs.
