Von Trapp Brewing, owned by the family whose story was immortalized in "The Sound of Music," will make its Philly debut on Tuesday, July 25 at Tria Taproom.
To celebrate the Vermont brewery's arrival in Philadelphia, Samuel von Trapp (grandson of George and Maria von Trapp) will visit the taproom. He is the executive vice president of the beer company.
Three von Trapp beers will be available to attendees: von Trapp Bohemian Pilsner, von Trapp Golden Helles and von Trapp Vienna-Style Lager.
Besides bringing von Trapp beers to the bar, he will offer attendees an opportunity to win a two-night stay at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont.
Guests who attend the celebration from 5 to 8 p.m. will receive an event card that must be filled out and returned to the taproom staff, in order to enter the giveaway. The winner will be chosen at random and announced at 8 p.m. No purchase is necessary.
If the winner is not present and doesn't respond to an email notification within 48 hours, then Tria Taproom will choose an alternative winner to receive the prize.
The event will also feature a special medley from "The Sound of Music" at 6 p.m., performed by members of the Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus.
