Heading into Wednesday night's GOP debate, Donald Trump continues to lead the race for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, carrying 27 percent of Republican primary voters at the national level.

It turns out his loyal support of New England Patriots QB Tom Brady through the Deflategate saga has earned him a marquee supporter.
In a locker room interview Wednesday, Brady was asked about the "Make America Great Again" hat spotted prominently among his personal belongings, CNN reports.

Brady, a well-known golf buddy of Trump's, called it a "nice keepsake" and added that it would be "great" if Trump wins the election.
Does Trump have a realistic shot at winning the election? "I hope so," Brady said. "That would be great. There'd be a putting green on the White House lawn. I know that."
Through the proceedings of the Deflategate case, which has since been ruled in Brady's favor, Trump staunchly supported the quarterback, going so far as to advise him to sue the NFL for defamation in an Instagram post.
Brady and Trump detractors wasted no time poking fun at the endorsement on social media.
@BartHubbuch With Brady's endorsement Trump should become President of New England states. I hope they secede from the Union.
