Sixers center Joel Embiid's prolific use of social media is finally going to cost him – $10,000 to be exact, or roughly the same as if he bought 20 pairs of Big Baller Brand shoes and then rightfully decided to burn them.
On Saturday, the NBA fined Embiid for "using inappropriate language on social media," specifically his live Instagram video that included the 23-year-old saying, "F**k LaVar Ball."

The video was part of a continuing feud between Embiid and Ball, the father of Lakers' second-overall pick Lonzo Ball, that began on draft night and continued when Ball appeared on Philly radio recently and had a few choice words for the Sixers center. Then came Embiid's Instagram post on Tuesday.
On Friday, Ball responded to Embiid's NSFW video by telling TMZ that Embiid "can't play at all." He also said the big man "isn't intelligent at all," citing the seven-foot Cameroon native's lack of vocabulary as the reason he chose to use profanity in the video. Of course, he did this while using poor grammar of his own, struggling to count to three and failing to realize that English is Embiid's third language.
Sure, his wallet is about to be $10K lighter, but if that's what it costs to curse out LaVar Ball, so be it.
