Girls fight at Cheltenham High School on Wednesday morning. Several teachers were injured trying to break it up, reports said.
A teacher at Cheltenham High School was injured Wednesday morning in a fight between four female students.
The incident, acknowledged by the district in a message on its web site, said the incident occurred about 7:30 a.m. at the Wyncote school, and the students who were involved were removed immediately from the building. The short message did not mention any injuries to staff.
The fight was captured on cellphone video and posted to YouTube:
The video shows a woman teacher who was trying to hold back a student suffer injuries in a fall.
The district said additional adults have been assigned to the school to monitor internal and external areas, and counselors and representatives from its Student Services Department are on site for additional student support.
Cheltenham police did not return a call for information about the melee or the extent of the teacher's injuries.
Regularly scheduled school activities will be held, the district said.
It was unknown if any of the students would face charges.
