Police in Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, found the remains of more than two dozen headless birds and are now trying to find out who’s responsible.
Authorities said in a Facebook post they found the first grave-of-sorts on Saturday in a wooded section off Winding Wood Drive near Rt. 9.
There they discovered trash bags filled with 22 roosters, hens, guinea hens and pigeons, all of which were decapitated.
On Monday, police found bags containing five more decapitated birds in the same location.
Anyone with information about the birds is asked to call Detective Joel Mahr at (609) 296-3666.
