The School District of Philadelphia on Wednesday released a new tool designed to help families better navigate the abundance of charter school options.
The Philadelphia Charter Schools Profiles detail the application deadlines, student retention rates and demographic breakdowns, among other key information, for each charter school operating in 2016-17.
The one-page profiles, released by the district's Charter Schools Office, can be viewed here. The profiles will be updated each year.
The profiles also list each school's mission statement, enrollment criteria, college matriculation rates, academic, transportation options and extra-curricular offerings. Contact information for school leaders is included, too.
Information on the charter schools' academic performance, organizational compliance and financial sustainability will be released later this spring as part of the district's annual charter school evaluations.
