The Phillies and Dodgers have agreed on a deal that would send Chase Utley to Los Angeles for a pair of minor leaguers, John Heyman of CBSsports.com reported.
Although cautioning the deal was not yet official, Heyman said the Phillies would receive “mid-level” prospects in return for the six-time all-star.
Utley was on the field taking batting and fielding practice prior to Wednesday night's game against the Blue Jays at Citizens Bank Park. He was not in the posted lineup
Utley, who is from Long Beach, Calif., hit .282 with 233 home runs and 916 RBI in 13 seasons with the Phillies, who selected him with the 15th overall pick in the 2000 draft.
Utley would join longtime teammate Jimmy Rollins with the Dodgers, who hold a two-game lead over the Giants in the NL West.
