Philadelphia Cheesesteak Festival is here to clog your arteries

Sample the city's iconic sandwich until you can't take it anymore

In July, we reported that the first Philadelphia Cheesesteak Festival would erupt onto the fall festival scene Saturday, Oct. 24. Now just two weeks away, details have emerged about this highly anticipated event.

Dozens of cheesesteak vendors with samples of classic sandwiches, fun variations like cheesesteak egg rolls, and vegetarian and gluten-free versions will all be there. Of course, Pat's and Geno's will be there, as will Tony Luke's, Joe's, Steve's, Nick's, Shank's, Lee's and every other brand named after its founder on the planet. Basically, anyone who attends should be able to confidently decide whose cheesesteak is actually the best, for once and for all.

"The Works" tickets, which included 20 cheesesteak sample vouchers, a T-shirt and more, have sadly sold out. But "Wit" tickets, which includes 10 sample vouchers and a T-shirt are still available for $40 and "Witout" tickets, which just get you in the door, are available for $20. Sample vouchers will be available for purchase on the premises in packs of five for $10.

Live performances by Go Go Gadjet, StellarMojo and Black Thorn, the world's largest cheesesteak and a cheesesteak eating competition round out the day's events. A terrifying mascot named Cheesy will also be in attendance.
