Craving a good cup of soup? You're in luck. The best in the entire state is in Philadelphia, according to one report.
The Daily Meal, a national food website, searched soups from restaurants and small shops across the nation to compile a list of the best soup in each state and in Washington D.C. published earlier this week. The site excluded ramen, chili and gazpacho from its most recent list.
The snapper turtle soup at Oyster House, the seafood restaurant at 15th and Sansom streets, took the top spot in Pennsylvania. The Daily Meal calls the dish "a rich, deeply flavorful soup [that's] loaded with turtle, chopped carrots and celery, and hard-boiled egg, and a little sherry on the side kicks up the classiness factor."
New Jersey's best soup is the broccoli and cheese soup at Cook to Order, a restaurant that serves up American fare in North Jersey while Delaware's was the cream of crab soup in Meding's Seafood in Milford.
