When it comes to the 2016 presidential race, a majority of Republican voters say they could not support New Jersey Governor Chris Christie as their party's nominee.
That's according to the latest poll from NBC News/Wall Street Journal. Of those surveyed, 55 percent say that they could not support Christie for president, while only 33 percent say they could.
The only candidate with more voters saying they could not support him was reality television star and businessman Donald Trump. An overwhelming 66 percent of respondents said they could not support Trump, while 32 percent said they could.
Christie, who is expected to make a decision on whether to run by the end of this month, finds himself far from the field of contenders. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush had the highest support numbers, with 75 percent saying they could get behind him for president.
Closely trailing Bush was U.S. Senator from the same state Marco Rubio (74 percent) and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee (65 percent).
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, who is expected to officially file his candidacy in July and is widely considered one of the heavyweights among the Republican field, was fourth (57 percent).
The full poll, which will include Democratic and general election numbers, will be released on Monday at 6:30 p.m. The poll had a margin of error of 6.4 percentage points and was conducted between June 14-18.
