Javier Cruz, 34, faces multiple fraud-related charges over alleged deceptive business practices at Colmar-based Bentley Surfaces, LLC.

A business owner in Montgomery County was arrested Monday following an investigation into allegations that he engaged in deceptive business practices, the Hatfield Township Police Department announced in a statement.

During August and September, authorities monitored complaints against Javier Cruz, owner of Bentley Surfaces on the 600 block of Bethlehem Pike.

The website for Bentley Surfaces touts Cruz's business as an "industry leader" in granite, marble and quartz as well as tiles and cabinets, hardwood flooring and full home remodeling.

"You name it, and we make it happen!" the website promises, playing up a showroom with a wide selection of countertops, tile, sinks, cabinets and flooring.

Police did not detail the specific nature of the alleged deceptive practices carried out by Bently Surfaces. Cruz, 34, was arrested on Sept. 19 on charges of deceptive or fraudulent business practices and related. He was arraigned and jailed at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility with bail set at $30,000 cash.

A preliminary hearing for Cruz is scheduled on October 4.

An investigation into Cruz's business is ongoing. Anyone with information pertinent to the allegations against him, including victims, is asked to contact the Hatfield Township Police Department at 215-855-0903.
