Josh Innes suspended three days by WIP for comments about Jason Kelce

Yesterday, 94.1 WIP afternoon drive host Josh Innes became a national story for comments that he made about Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. Today, the radio station came down with its punishment.

Innes is suspended for the rest of the week. From Philly.com’s Rob Tornoe:

Sportsradio 94.1 WIP is suspending Josh Innes for three days after the host used a racial epithet on air to describe Eagles center Jason Kelce.

“Comments made by Josh Innes during his WIP-FM program yesterday in regards to Eagles center Jason Kelce were inappropriate and unacceptable,” WIP said in a statement. “We do not condone or approve of those comments.”

Yesterday, on his show with former Eagles defensive tackle Hollis Thomas, Innes compared Kelce to an African-American house slave. After the story quickly blew up, Innes apologized later in the show.

“I’m the dumbest human being on the planet,” Innes said at one point during his apology.
