Chip Kelly wonders who this guy in the suit is, as he's seen him in line for the salad bar in the cafeteria on occasion.
No, seriously. Chip Kelly doesn't know exactly what Howie Roseman does.
Earlier this offseason, Roseman was ousted as the team's general manager, and Chip Kelly was given complete control of the team. The Eagles later hired Ed Marynowitz to be the "VP of Player Personnel." To translate that into vernacular that people can actually understand, you could call Marynowitz the "quasi-GM" or Chip's new "right hand man."
In a round table interview between Kelly and the Philly media, Kelly was asked if he had a good relationship with Roseman.
"I have a good relationship with Howie," Kelly responded. "I think he does a good job in what his job is now in terms of overseeing contracts, in terms of overseeing all those other things that are under it. I don't know exactly -- there are some things he's doing -- I don't know exactly what those are. Those are under the direction of Mr. Lurie. But my interaction with from a contract standpoint, I have a good relationship with him."
Soooooo... Roseman does something or another with contracts, and otherwise, it's anyone's guess, although I'm told he's a good people person.
